Although the underground tours at Soudan Mine have been suspended for renovation until 2023, this excursion is worth the wait. Located in Minnesota, Soudan was the state’s first iron ore mine. It opened in 1882.

The mine remained functional until a change in technology in the 1990s caused the demand for iron ore to decrease. Currently, the mine is undergoing changes, however, you can still get an above-ground tour that walks guests through the other mining jobs that impacted the industry.

3. Jet Boat Adventure - New Jersey

East Coast Water Sports offers a variety of adventures for travelers visiting New Jersey. You can hit the water on your own jet boat to explore the sea. They also offer parasailing and guided dolphin tours on a speedboat.
