Let’s be honest, there have been horrific Airbnb travel horror stories from hidden cameras to guests turned squatters. Yet, Airbnb is proving to be trying its best to provide its solo-traveling customers with the best experience. In fact, the app’s latest safety feature is aims to promote a safe and secure experience for solo travelers.

Here’s what’s new

The new safety integration is a response to the increase of digital nomads with the rise of remote work. After analyzing internal data, Airbnb realized that “26 percent of all nights booked in 2021 were by solo travelers, and more than 50 percent of nights booked for long-term stays during the first quarter of 2022 were for solo travelers.”

In addition to providing users with expert safety tips, it also allows users to easily share their itineraries with their loved ones back home. With just one click, travelers can share the listing address, reservation code, and check-in and out dates. The latest addition is pre-written safety questions to the host that one can send after making a reservation.
