Carnival Cruise Lines is introducing a new ship that will be based in New York, Carnival Venezia. For less than the price of a hotel stay in New York City, you’ll be able to get on board one of the many voyages Carnival Venezia will be offering in 2023.

Carnival Introduces Carnival Venezia

Fares for a cabin inside the 4,208-passenger Carnival Venezia will start at just $394 a person for a six-night cruise. The new vessel is only three years old but it’s bigger than the Carnival Magic that is already based in New York. Also, Carnival Venezia will have trips all year round starting June of 2023.

There will be a variety of itineraries on the Carnival ship, with 22 routes already scheduled for next year. The trips range from four to fifteen nights. Destinations will include the Bahamas, Bermuda, New England, Canada, and the Caribbean.

Cabin Rates

Among the lowest-priced options for a trip on Carnival Venezia unveiled this week are:

  • The New England and Canada six-night cruise starts at $394 per person for about $66 a day. The voyage begins September 23, 2023, and includes stops at Portland, Maine; Saint John, New Brunswick; and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
  • The New England and Canada seven-night cruise begins at $454 per person, which is also about $66 a day. Those trips begin September 16, 2023, and include calls at Saint John, New Brunswick; Halifax, and Sydney, Nova Scotia.
  • An eight-night cruise to the Bahamas will start at $535 per person which is close to $67 a day. Those cruises begin December 10, 2023, and include calls to Freeport, Nassau, and Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.

The fares listed above are for the lower-level cabins without windows. These are the lowest fares on the ship.

Ocean-view cabins to the Bahamas will start at $674 per person and the balcony cabins will start at $794 a person. For an eight-night cruise that comes to about $99 a day for the balcony cabin.

You can find all the fares listed on the Carnival website. Prices are based per person and include the cabins, meals, and entertainment. Fares do not include taxes and port fees which could go between $179.20 to $193.82. Cruise lines do not advertise their fares with taxes and fees, however, they will be added to your bill at checkout.

If you’ve been on cruises before you also know that the cabin prices are based on double occupancy. Meaning, they’re for two people in a room. If a passenger would like to have their cabin, they would have to pay more.

Italian Style

Carnival Venezia will also be the most unique vessel out of the fleet of Carnival Cruise Ships. The Venezia was completed in 2019 for an Italy-based cruise line, Costa Cruises. The sister company to Carnival Cruise Line, Costa Cruises was meant for voyages in Europe and Asia, however, the pandemic has slowed business down tremendously in the eastern hemisphere. Hence, Carnival transferred the ships to their New York base. The Carnival Venezia is Italian themed, which is why their new campaign is called “Carnival Fun Italian Style.”
