If you’re a fan of sci-fi movies, The Jetsons, or anything considered “futuristic” creatively then you’re looking forward to the day personal cars can fly. Let’s just say, your wildest dreams will be coming true. A Chinese company just conducted one of its first test drives of the XPeng X2. A flying taxi powered by electricity.

The test drive of the vehicle was completed in Dubai. The car flew completely remote with no passengers in its cockpit. The vehicle was equipped with eight propellers, accommodates 2 passengers, and can reach 80 mph. However, unlike airplanes and helicopters, the Xpeng can allow for faster personal travel.

Soon, cars will be able to transport people without drivers. They’ll fly over roads filled with heavy traffic. The biggest challenges manufacturers are committed to figuring out the battery life, air traffic control and safety, and some infrastructure issues that still give flying cars many obstacles before hitting the market.
