NBA star Reggie Bullock has purchased his own private island in Belize for 2 million dollars. The island is located in the southern part of the country in the Placencia area, which is known for its beautiful beaches and coral reefs. The island reportedly has 5 acres of land and comes with a four-bedroom villa, a swimming pool, and a boat dock.
Bullock is a product of Baltimore and was selected 25th in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. Eventually he went on to play for various teams including the Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, before signing with the Mavericks in August 2021. For the Mavericks, he’s known for his killer three-point shooting ability and defensive skills.
“I’ve been looking for different things to invest my money in,” Bullock told Marc J Spears of Andscape recently. “I found an opportunity down in Belize where I purchased an island that was about 5 acres that I am going to put resort villas on. It’s a vacation spot for me and my family where other people will be able to attend and enjoy different vacation activities,” he stated.
Bullock intends to construct a residence measuring 4,000 square feet on the island for himself and his family, along with eight rental villas for vacationers. In addition, he plans to develop a restaurant/bar, spa, basketball court, and infinity pool. To ensure that he makes informed decisions, the 31-year-old athlete has sought the guidance of locals, particularly the individual who sold him the island and owns Hobbs Brewing Co. in Placencia. Bullock has also engaged a caretaker and his son from the local community to assist with daily maintenance tasks, such as clearing away shells, coral, and conch from the island.
