No more complaints about uncomfortable flights with Spirit Airlines, the carrier has begun making some upgrades to their planes.
Spirit made the announcement back in September that the upgrades would be coming to their Airbus A320neo and would eventually roll out to their existing planes.
The upgrades, which are part of their “Invest in the Guest” program, consist of new padded seats with an extra pre-recline (guests still can’t recline their own seats on Spirit), two additional inches of “useable” legroom, removed pouches from the seatback, full-size tray tables, and a redesigned cabin.
“We listened to our Guests and went on the hunt for the optimal Spirit seat. Our new seats and cabin redesign were developed from the ground up to enhance the experience while maintaining our low fares at the same time,” said Ted Christie, President and CEO of Spirit Airlines. “We’re the fastest-growing airline in the country, and we’re delighted to usher in these innovations in Guest comfort as our fleet doubles in size over the next five years.”
Spirit plans to implement additional upgrades in the future, including WiFi, a revamped Loyalty program, and self-bag drop operations to reduce check-in lines.
