Did you know that southern Africa is the only area in the world where four countries come together? That’s right, four countries (Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) are all connected by the merging of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers.

There isn’t a lot of tourism in these countries but it is definitely developing with hopes of attracting travelers in the coming years.

For easy navigation to this area as a tourist, it’s best to hop aboard CroisiEurope’s southern Africa river cruise. This way, you can experience five African countries in a span of nine days while receiving luxury treatment.

You’ll start off in Johannesburg, South Africa with visits to the Apartheid Museum, the township of Soweto and one of Nelson Mandela’s homes.

On the second day, you’ll board a commercial flight and land at Kasane International Airport in Botswana. From there you will be transported by a boat to CroisiEurope’s lodge in Namibia.

Once you arrive on the private island owned by CrioisiEurope’s African Safari, there will be a chance to unwind and watch the sunset in the main lodge.

Although CroisiEurope is known for its river cruises, you will be spending days on land and traveling up and down the visiting destinations such as Chobe National Park in Botswana, where you can spot buffalo, giraffes, lions, leopards, and herds of elephants.

On day five you will begin cruising aboard CroisiEurope’s African Dream, traveling on Lake Kariba which is along the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia. This lake is the largest manmade lake by volume in the world with animal life such as fish and water birds.

Each night, the boat will dock and you’ll be able to venture to the top deck and experience the bright stars.

While on the cruise, you will make a stop at Matusadona National Park in Zimbabwe for a land safari where you’ll be able to see antelope, elephants, and zebra.

To end the trip, you’ll board a private flight to the gorgeous Victoria Falls. Spend your last night in a hotel room overlooking a watering hole where buffalo and elephants quench their thirst.

Your very last day will be spent hiking through a national park surrounding Victoria Falls and a helicopter ride over the majestic falls.
