American Airlines continues to grow its presence at Miami International Airport. The Dallas/Fort Worth-based carrier is introducing new routes, expanding flights to the Caribbean and Latin America this winter. They also are adding new routes and a new destination: Governor’s Harbour in the Bahamas. The company will operate over 380 peak-day flights this winter, serving 150 destinations.

“Having been a part of Miami International Airport for over 30 years, American Airlines takes pride in being the hometown airline,” said Juan Carlos Liscano, Vice President of MIA Hub Operations at American Airlines. “Next winter, we are thrilled to continue investing in the indisputable gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, which is a true source of pride for our more than 14,000 locally-based team members.”

The airline currently operates flights from Miami International Airport to over 85 unique destinations. It includes more than 45 locations in Latin America and the Caribbean. With service to over 70 destinations throughout the United States, American Airlines provides customers with the most convenient way to explore Miami’s offerings.

The airline will introduce a new destination and expand its flights to Latin America and the Caribbean with exciting additions to its winter schedule. Beginning Feb. 3, American Airlines will be the sole U.S. carrier offering nonstop flights from Miami International Airport to Governor’s Harbour, Bahamas. The service will operate twice weekly on Embraer E175 aircraft, complementing the airline’s winter schedule for the Bahamas.

American Airlines will also enhance its winter schedule from Miami International Airport to Latin America and the Caribbean. There will be more than 140 peak-day departures to over 70 destinations. Some of these destinations will include Liberia, Costa Rica, Cartagena, Colombia, Tortola and British Virgin Islands. These additions solidify American Airlines’ commitment to providing customers with extensive travel options within the region.

American Airlines also is expanding its domestic network from Miami International Airport this winter. They are offering nonstop service from seven new domestic destinations. Passengers can now enjoy year-round daily flights to Portland, Oregon and Sacramento, California. They also can enjoy seasonal weekly service to Buffalo, New York, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Lexington, Kentucky, Wichita, Kansas, and Wilmington, North Carolina. American Airlines will offer the most convenient nonstop access to Miami International Airport from these new domestic locations.
