Exploring the outdoors can be one of the most fulfilling experiences for nature-loving travelers. Fresh air is abundant. You can feel the elements all around and the adventures at your leisure are endless. From hiking and long-distance backpacking to mountain climbing and extreme hiking, outdoor travelers have a laundry list of options when it comes to exploring.

However, outdoor adventures can sometimes be dangerous. Therefore, it’s important to ensure you stay on top of your safety when navigating the outdoors. A new app, GOES Health, is making sure everyone stays safe on their next outdoor travel excursion.

The app recently partnered with Recreate Responsibly to help outdoor travelers keep the ecosystem safe while exploring. GOES Health has travelers covered 24/7 by ensuring they remain healthy and safe while exploring nature wherever they go.

GOES Health was born from an immediate emergency. In 2019, creator Dr. Grant Lipman received an urgent email from a hiker who’d gotten bitten by a rattlesnake. After receiving antivenom from a hospital, the hiker’s injury seemed to worsen. While virtually assisting the hiker, Dr. Lipman knew he had to make wilderness healthcare more accessible.

Now, GOES is the ultimate safety companion every outdoor traveler should have on their phones. The app has a variety of features including tailoring outdoor health and safety tips to the environmental location of the user. This is perfect for travelers who could be exploring different terrains all over the world. Explorers can get natural disaster alerts, over 150 outdoor preparation tips, and off-grid access when wifi is limited.

“We are making wilderness medicine more accessible by personalizing location and activity-based care protocols, and making them actionable for all levels of users,” CEO and Co-Founder of GOES Health Camilo Barcenas told Sierra Magazine.

The app comes in handy for preventive health measures but it’s also helpful when disaster strikes. In the event of a medical emergency in nature, outdoor travelers can access injury-specific management guides with wilderness medical protocol to help them gauge what to do until help arrives.

Wilderness Medical Help At Your Fingertips

Off-grid exploring in nature can make it difficult to communicate with the outside world. Signals can get spotty, which means there’s no way to know if unsavory weather conditions are headed your way. GOES Health resolves this issue by providing natural disaster and weather alerts when outdoor travelers are on the go and out of reach.

With the premium subscription, users can also access wilderness medical professionals 24/7. This group of 30 physicians is available on-call to assist outdoor travelers with medical emergencies. However, the internet is required to access this premium feature. Instead of leaving your personal health and safety to chance, GOES Health works with travelers to keep their well-being at the forefront of every adventure. The app is available on both Apple and Android devices and is the ultimate tool to keep travelers safe while navigating the outdoors.
