The National Black Brewers Association has proudly established Black Brewer’s Day. The celebration has garnered recognition in sixteen cities and states. Black Brewer’s Day, observed on October 10th, is a poignant tribute to the pioneers who influenced the brewing industry.

Where It All Began

This significant moment hails the pioneering spirit of Theodore A. Mack, Sr., who marked October 10, 1970, as a historic milestone. It was the day of the acquisition of People’s Brewing Company in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This event, attended by over 2,000 guests, witnessed Mr. Mack becoming the first Black brewery president in the United States.

Kevin Asato, President of the Black Brewers Association, expressed his dedication to recognizing Brewers’ contributions and extending the celebration’s reach. Black Brewer’s Day symbolizes resilience and triumph in the brewing industry, emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and the endless possibilities within the brewing world.
