Now in its fourth year, Cincy Soul: The Black Taste is a collaborative effort from Black business owners across the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. Taking place in Downtown Cincinnati from Friday, July 26 through Sunday, July 28, the festival is designed to unite, cultivate, educate, and inspire Black entrepreneurship while celebrating the Black experience through culinary excellence. The festival coincides with the Cincinnati Music Festival, which includes a star-studded music lineup with Slick Rick, Maxwell, Earth, Wind & Fire, Tamia, Raheen DeVaughn, Mary J. Blige, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Blackstreet featuring Teddy Riley, The Ohio Players, and more.
With 40 Black-owned restaurants, food trucks, and caterers plus 19 retailers, attendees of the fest will have plenty of opportunities to sample local dishes and fashions. They’ll also be treated to Black heritage and traditions through visual performance arts, cultural displays, and demonstrations. To build suspense, event organizers have kept mum on which food vendors and retailers will be joining the festival.
Cincy Soul Fest is free to attend, although visitors will be responsible for their food purchases. Tickets for the Cinncinati Music Festival can be purchased on their website at cincymusicfestival.com.
