Delta Air Lines is gearing up for an extensive flight schedule expansion to China. The airline will introduce 10 weekly China flights to Shanghai-Pudong International Airport from its Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport hubs. These new services will kick off on Oct. 29, featuring daily flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and three weekly flights from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.
Delta Air Lines is reinstating a four-times-weekly Shanghai Pudong International Airport route from its Los Angeles hub in March next year. In doing that, the company brings back a route that was last operational in February 2020.
Jeff Moomaw, Vice President for Delta Air Lines’ Asia Pacific division, stated that the demand for the region is escalating. He said in a press release that Delta Air Lines is ready to welcome a surge of travelers. He highlighted the airline’s commitment to delivering top-tier customer service throughout the entire travel experience.
Travelers opting for Delta Air Lines will have the added benefit of seamless connectivity to various cities within China. This situation is due to the airline’s strategic alliance with China Eastern Airlines. These airlines offer a remarkable 260 codeshare flights per week. This will expand travel choices and simplify the overall customer journey.
China Flights with Airbus A330-900 and A350-900
The flights departing from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport operate using the Airbus A330-900 aircraft. Those originating from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Los Angeles International Airport will utilize the Airbus A350-900.
Passengers on these routes can choose from four distinct onboard experiences: Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin. Delta One passengers can indulge in enhanced privacy. They also will have a fully reclining seat and premium bedding crafted from recycled materials. This experience also includes Someone Somewhere amenity kits and delectable chef-prepared meals.
For those flying Delta Premium Select, an upgraded spaciousness awaits. It features wider seating with an extended recline and an adjustable footrest and leg rest. It also has an elevated dining experience.
