Starting in the summer of 2024, New Orleans’ iconic Mardi Gras festivities will be celebrated year-round in Orlando. The first attraction dedicated to Disney’s first Black princess is set to open this summer, and Princess Tiana is sharing her love for the Bayou with the world.

In New Orleans, the Mardi Gras season starts with the saying, “Laissez les bons temps rouler!” It translates to “Let The Good Times Roll,” fitting as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a journey of a good time with new friends and music.

As Travel Noire previously reported, riders will be introduced to 17 new friends of Princess Tiana’s from the Bayou. There’s an otter, a rabbit, a raccoon, a beaver, a turtle, and more who will serenade riders with the sounds of Zydeco jazz thanks to their instruments made of natural materials found along the Bayou. Princess Tiana’s friends aren’t the only new additions. Riders will be introduced to new and original music thanks to Grammy-award-winning musician PJ Morton and award-winning musician Terence Blanchard.

“It was exciting for me, the idea of creating something original for this, but that was also a challenge,” Morton told a room of reporters visiting for an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience with Walt Disney Imagineers. “All the songs are so well done. People are very familiar with them now. The challenge was to try to fit in with what already existed but also bring something fresh and move the story along.”

Old Friends Will Re-Appear

Even with the new additions, music from the beloved film, “The Princess and the Frog,” will be heard throughout the attraction, as will the voices of the characters everyone loved. Guests will listen to the voice of Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, Jenifer Lewis as Mama Odie, Michael Leon Wooley as Louis, and Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana throughout their adventure.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is what Disney calls a “log-full attraction” as it takes place on a boat along the Bayou. Guests will float through Louisiana’s beauty, including Cypress trees and Spanish moss, but should expect to get

And just when you think things can’t get better, the sweet scent of beignets frying is expected along the journey.

The attraction opens at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida in the summer of 2024 and will open at Disneyland Park in California later in the year.
