Frontier Airlines is offering multiple low-cost flights to Puerto Rico. This provides travelers with a wonderful opportunity to experience the island’s renowned beaches and cultural offerings. The airline will launch nonstop service in May.
The low-cost carrier also added two new routes from San Jose to Detroit and San Jose to Cancun. With these new routes, Frontier Airlines offers 20 nonstop departures from the island, making it the market leader. Tickets are on sale for as low as $59.
“Our major expansion in Puerto Rico is connecting the island to some of the most popular destinations across the United States, as well as Cancun,” said Daniel Shurz, who is the senior vice president of commercial at Frontier Airlines. “In addition to bringing increased tourism to the island, Puerto Ricans now have more access to Frontier’s ‘Low Fares Done Right’ to visit friends and family across the U.S.”
The CEO of Aerostar Puerto Rico said that he is “pleased to know that the largest expansion of the airline in its history takes place in Puerto Rico.” He also noted that the growth in service will translate to more flight options for travelers. The growth will help with jobs and commercial activity in Puerto Rico.
