Trip Advisor recently announced its lists of top attractions and destinations for 2022, based on reviews left on its website. The European winners included Spain and Italy. The latter has bounced back after being gutted by the pandemic in 2020. In the US, New York, Colorado and Florida made several appearances. There was even a list of popular amusement parks in the US, and we’ll let you guess who dominated that.

According to CNN, Trip Advisor “determined who made the lists based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings for experiences, tours, activities and attractions.”

1. World's Top Attractions

  1. The stunning Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is the most popular tourist attraction in the city and must be seen to be believed. Seriously.
  2. The Colosseum in Rome is a beautiful piece of historic architecture.
  3. The most iconic skyscraper in New York City, the Empire State Building, is number three.
  4. The jewel of Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is number four.
  5. Florence’s Uffizi Gallery.
  6. Spain shows out again with Plaza de España in Seville.
  7. The majestic Iguazu Falls in Brazil.
  8. England takes the eighth spot with The Roman Baths in Bath.
  9. Colorado is the only US winner- the Garden of the Gods.
  10. The Trevi Fountain of Rome rounds out the list.

 

 

2. Best US Attractions

  1. Come through, New York! The Empire State Building has entered the chat yet again.
  2. Colorado’s Garden of The Gods (this must be worth visiting to be on yet another list!).
  3. New York’s most famous green space- Central Park.
  4. The Iolani Palace of Honolulu.
  5. Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina.
  6. The 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York.
  7. Utah’s Arches National Park is a beauty.
  8. New Orleans’ World War II Museum.
  9. Taliesin Preservation in Spring Green, Wisconsin.
  10. Finally, the Stetson Mansion in DeLand, Florida.

  1. One might think Disney World would take the top spot, but Trip Advisor reviewers give that distinction to Dollywood in Tennessee. There’s plenty of rides, attractions and fun for the family.

  3. Orlando comes in again with Magic Kingdom Park- a hit with the kids.
