On Friday, police in Nashville, Tennessee, arrested the night manager of a Hilton Hotel on charges that he went into a sleeping guest’s room and sucked on the guest’s toes, WKRN reported. David Neal, 52, is being charged with aggravated burglary and assault. Police said that Neal used a fake key card he made to get into hotel guest Pete Brennan’s room at about 5 a.m. local time.

Brennan, who was from Texas and in Nashville for a business meeting, knew Neal as the worker who had come to the room with another worker the day before to fix a problem with the TV.

According to local news, Neal told the police officers he went into Brennan’s room because he smelled smoke. The Hilton manager didn’t tell security about the smell of smoke or do anything else about it. When the police asked him about the extra room key, he replied that he had thrown it away. It is still missing.

In a statement to the news outlet WKRN, the Hilton Nashville Downtown Hotel said:

“The safety and security of our guests and team members is our highest priority. We are working closely with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, and, as part of company policy, we do not comment on ongoing investigations.”

“Severe Psychological Injuries”

Brennan has sued the Hilton Nashville Downtown Hotel, claiming the manager sexually assaulted him there.

“Mr. Brennan was vulnerable and taken advantage of while he was asleep,” the lawsuit reads. After Neal fled his hotel room, Brennan reported the incident to onsite security, who “did not appear to take his complaint seriously,” according to the lawsuit.

Brennan and his lawyer claimed that the Hilton had not apologized for Neal’s behavior, which had caused Brennan “severe psychological injuries.”

“The Hilton Nashville Downtown is an independent property and I cannot speak on the hotel’s behalf,” a spokesperson for Hilton’s corporate office told the news outlet.
