Aruba is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the Caribbean, attracting millions of visitors each year. Its vibrant culture, friendly locals, and stunning natural landscapes make it a must-visit for travelers seeking a relaxing vacation. However, what makes this tiny island so special is its commitment to happiness. Aruba has been recognized as one of the happiest places in the world. From the moment I stepped foot on this island paradise, I felt a sense of peace and a warm welcome that instantly put me at ease.

Also, many know Aruba for its award-winning beaches and turquoise waters, but most travelers don’t know they can drink the island’s water straight from the tap. Both potable and delicious, Aruba’s water is made from Caribbean Sea turned tap as it goes through an extensive water treatment process.

Safety and Happiness

While visiting the island, I felt a strong sense of safety. Whether it was walking along the streets or exploring the natural wonders, I always felt secure and well taken care of. Aruba has a population of just over 100,000 people, making it a relatively small and close-knit community. This tight-knit atmosphere contributes is extended to visitors and tourists, allowing me to explore the island freely.

Aruba’s commitment to happiness can be seen in various aspects of daily life on the island. For example, during my visit, I noticed that the locals always greeted each other in Papiamento with a smile (Bon Bini). It is also essential to see its beautiful beaches and meet the world-famous Flamingos.

Hotels

The island has a wide range of hotels that cater to different budgets and preferences. From luxurious beachfront resorts to cozy boutique hotels, visitors can find accommodation options that suit their needs. Many of these hotels also offer additional amenities. The list includes spa services, swimming pools, and fine dining restaurants, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay for guests. These activities are part of their Paradise on Tap packages.

My first experience was at Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, a renowned eco-friendly hotel that offers stunning ocean views and a tranquil atmosphere. It is a good choice for those seeking a luxurious and tranquil beachfront experience. The staff provided individualized service above and beyond my expectations, making my stay a truly memorable one.

This 5-star resort invites its guests to practice Yoga by the Sea on the beach, which was a great way to rest and relax during my trip. But if you’re not into yoga, the hotel also has Sound Healing classes, spa treatments that help you relax, and more.

Bucuti also provides a chance to explore Aruba’s marine beauty through a once-in-a-lifetime private snorkel sail with breathtaking views. During the sail, which lasted 3 hours, I could observe and enjoy colorful coral reefs and a variety of tropical fish.

The sailing crew had a chef who prepared special dishes that included seafood, chicken or steak, and a selection of refreshing beverages. The combination of stunning ocean views, delicious food, and the thrill of snorkeling made it a very pleasant experience. The private snorkel sail with breathtaking views was a truly unforgettable experience.

The Boardwalk Boutique Hotel was the second hotel. The hotel offers an oasis ambiance and is within a three-minute walk of Palm Beach’s white sands. .

The restaurant at this small hotel is set on an ancient coconut farm, which is another interesting fact about it. It’s called “The Coco Café,” and it’s a safe place to enjoy tropical tastes and warm moments. Its menu celebrates a wide range of fresh and lively cooking styles that come from the island and our trips in the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Asia, and other places. You can try our breakfast, lunch, fresh drinks, snacks, and hand-crafted cocktails.

Aruba’s Rum History and Restaurants

Rum has a special place in the Caribbean, and in Aruba, this is not different. The organizers of the trip group took us to Pepe Margo Distillery, an artisan distillery in Aruba’s downtown, where we could learn about the history of rum as well as how the rum is fabricated.

The Pepe Margo Distillery is Aruba’s first handmade distillery, housed in a fully restored traditional Aruban home. This house was erected around the end of the nineteenth century and is one of the few remaining conventional residences in Aruba’s historical area.
One of its owners led us through the process of how transformed the kitchen into a rum distillery. I received a firsthand look at the intricate process of Aruban rum production.

He also offered different rum tastings, allowing us to experience the diverse flavors and aromas of their handcrafted rums. The distillery tour was not only informative but also a sensory delight, immersing us in the rich history and craftsmanship behind each bottle. A must-experience for any rum enthusiast or history buff visiting Aruba.

Aruba’s Dining Experience

Dinner at Infini Fine Dining was another unforgettable experience. Chef Urvin Croes delivered dishes produced without bounds, exploring new possibilities and going two feet beyond the box, as part of the restaurant’s Tasting Menu experience. Costs of Visiting Aruba

Despite being an amazing place to visit, Aruba is known for its high travel expenses. From accommodation to dining out, prices in Aruba can be quite steep compared to other destinations. However, the quality and uniqueness of the experiences make it worth the investment for those seeking a luxurious and unforgettable vacation.

Aruba, with its commitment to happiness, safety, diverse accommodations, and unique experiences, offers more than just a vacation—it provides a transformative journey that lingers in the hearts of those fortunate enough to experience its magic.

While Aruba may be expensive, the overall experience and memories created are priceless. It is a destination that caters to those who appreciate fine dining, exquisite accommodations, and a high level of service. Despite the cost, visiting Aruba is an opportunity to indulge in luxury that will last a lifetime.
