JetBlue is making another addition to their scheduled routes in 2023. As the company announced Wednesday they will add a second European destination. JetBlue will now fly to Paris from New York and will later add flights to Paris from Boston.
JetBlue Expanding
The sixth-largest airline which started as a low-cost carrier to popular destinations from New York is expanding to compete with the other major airline companies. JetBlue could potentially become the fifth-largest airline if the government approves its merger with Spirit Airlines.
Routes To London Made An Example
“JetBlue is offering something unique to what you get from the big global legacy airlines on these routes – where a single high-fare joint venture operates nearly three-quarters of the flying,” stated Robin Hayes, JetBlue’s CEO. “The response to our London service is proof that combining great service with low fares works. We can’t wait to bring our reimagined Mint and core offerings to Continental Europe’s most visited city.”
New Planes Who This?
When JetBlue started their routes to London from New York and Boston last year they introduced a new plane to their fleet. The Airbus A321LRs has 24 lie-flat suites in their business class and about 115 economy seats with extra legroom. The same aircraft will be used for their flights to Paris. Passengers on their European flights will have access to free wifi and snacks.
Although JetBlue hasn’t announced the price of their tickets to Paris we can expect them to be more cost-effective than their competitors. Currently, Air France and Delta sell round-trip tickets to Paris for between $1300 to $3800. JetBlue has made it clear it will compete for customers from its competitors with premium seats and service at a lower price.
