Portland, Oregon

Surprised that this is on the list?  Portland is often overlooked, but it’s a beautiful city that has plenty to offer families.  Known as America’s bicycle capital, the first thing you should do is rent a bike and go out for a bike tour with your family.

Located about three miles from Downtown is Oaks Amusement Park, one of the oldest operating amusement parks in the country.  And don’t forget about the Oregon Zoo and Portland Children’s Museum.

Chicago, Illinois

Chicago is the kind of destination that everything you need is in close proximity and accessible by Chicago’s public transit system known as the “L.”  It’s also a great destination for those of you who are low on vacation days and planning a trip last minute.

There are zoos, Navy Pier, and Chicago’s famous architecture boat tours that will keep the family busy. To top it all off, Chicago has an amazing food scene.

Ocean City, Maryland

Ocean City is truly a gem along the East Coast, but it’s no secret that it can get packed quickly.

It’s a great trip for later in the summer because the crowd size tends to dwindle down, with the exception of Labor Day Weekend.

Ocean City is known for its beaches and Boardwalk, but there are a ton of entertainment options, including amusement parks, miniature golf, escape rooms, and more.
