Actor Michael B. Jordan has experienced some “life-changing” trips, but the actor still has destinations he dreams of visiting.

“The first time that I went to Africa was one of those life-changing experiences for me,” the 35-year-old Emmy-nominated actor said in a promotional campaign for Chase Sapphire Reserve. “And at the same time, Milan was too. Going to Italy and having the opportunity to visit Lake Como and the Amalfi Coast was unbelievable. The food in both places was unreal, so I would have to say that, plus the experiences in each country to me are probably what make them my top two.”

To celebrate his love of travel, the actor has teamed up with the credit card company, Travel + Leisure reports. The campaign will highlight how cardholders can explore more of the world while also enjoying unique culinary and touring experiences.

Future Destinations on Michael B. Jordan’s Bucket List

Jordan also has his eye on a few other destinations, with hopes to make it to Japan sooner than later.

“I have to go. I have to get it,” he said. “Literally for the past maybe six years, there’s been a trip on the books and for whatever reason it keeps getting canceled. So this year, I am going to make sure I get over there.”

A main draw for the actor is likely his love of the country’s animation culture.

“Anybody that knows me knows I’m obsessed with anime,” he says. “I’m also working on some anime projects right now that I’m really, really excited about.”

His love for Japanese animation is also what made São Paulo and Brazil another of his favorite places to visit. “From the culture to the food, to their love of anime, it was a multi-quadrant kind of experience for me,” he said of the South American country.

Meaningful experiences can also happen close to home, as Jordan discovered when he dined at downtown Los Angeles’ Majordomo, a California cuisine restaurant from Momofuku.

“They had this chicken soup dish, phenomenal,” said People’s 2020 Sexiest Man Alive. “It reminded me a lot of my mom’s chicken noodle soup. It took me back to childhood, but also had me completely present in what I was enjoying at the moment.”

When it comes to a true vacation, however, there’s only one place that Jordan always returns to.

“The relaxation and just the chill vibes of Hawaii, Maui, and Lanai specifically, really allows me to just disconnect for a minute,” he said. “That’s a place that would never get old.”
