When traveling, safety is always a top priority. While it’s natural to rely on rumors and gossip when it comes to deciding what cities are safe for travel, it’s always best to do your research before choosing your next destination.

In October, Statista released the top 10 list of cities with the largest number of violent crimes per 100,000 residents. The list included statistics from 2018 and took four categories of violent crimes into consideration: murder and non-negligent manslaughter; forcible rape; robbery; and aggravated assault. Only cities with a population of at least 200,000 were considered.
