U.S. Army Women’s Museum and Hall of Fame – Fort Lee, Virginia

The U.S. Army Women’s Museum and Hall of Fame is the only museum in the world dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the contributions of women to the Army. The Museum tells the amazing story of female patriots who have served our nation from the American Revolution to present. Their mission is to conserve and preserve a repository of artifacts and archives pertaining to the service of women in the U.S. Army.

Museum of Women’s Resistance – Brooklyn, New York

According to the website, the Museum of Women’s Resistance (MoWRe) examines the diversity, dynamism, and influence of women of African descent and women of color from the Global South, their resistance movements, their cultures over time in the realms of family, work, community, nations, and the natural environment.

National Museum of Women in the Arts – Washington, D.C.

The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA ) is conveniently located in the heart of Washington, D.C. It is the only major museum in the world solely dedicated to championing women through the arts. NMWA advocates for better representation of women artists and serves as a vital center for thought leadership, community engagement, and social change.

Rosa Parks Museum – Montgomery, Alabama

Troy University’s Rosa Parks Museum is an active memorial to the life of civil rights icon Rosa Parks and the lessons of the Montgomery Bus Boycott that brought racial integration to transportation and international attention to civil rights. Located in downtown Montgomery, Alabama at the site where Mrs. Parks was arrested, it is the nation’s only museum dedicated to Rosa Parks. 

International Women’s Air and Space Museum – Cleveland, Ohio

The International Women’s Air & Space Museum is located in the terminal of Burke Lakefront Airport, only seconds from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the Great Lakes Science Center. Their mission is to collect, preserve, and showcase the history and culture of women in all areas of aviation & aerospace; educate people of the world about their contributions, and inspire future generations by bringing the history to life.
