It may be the beginning of the year, but there are already new airline routes on the horizon. Since new route announcements come with a side of cheap flights, these new routes will have lower airfares this year. 

Now, residents of North American cities will be able to have connections to Africa, Europe, Mexico, and the South Pacific. The huge benefit of these new routes is getting to your destination more quickly than before.

Austin (AUS) to Paris (CDG – Norwegian Airlines

Norwegian Airlines got rid of service from smaller airports in the Northeast but has added new routes from certain cities in the U.S. to Europe. May 6th, 2020 will be the start of its nonstop service from Austin, Texas to Paris, France. 

Flights will take place three times per week, making it the only nonstop flight between Austin and Paris. 

Boston (BOS) to Calgary (YYC) – Air Canada and WestJet

Air Canada and WestJet are the two largest airlines in Canada and they have both launched nonstop service this year. WestJet flights will be taking place from May 14 to October 12th, 2020. Air Canada will have flights scheduled from June 23rd until September 6th, 2020. 

Boston (BOS) to Vienna (VIE) – Austrian Airlines

Austrian Airlines will have nonstop flights from Boston to Vienna starting on March 29th, 2020. It is the only airline that will offer direct flights between the two cities. Flights will take place every day with the exception of Mondays until October 24th, 2020.

This route may be a bit expensive since there aren’t any other nonstop flights from Boston to Vienna.

Chicago (ORD) to Prague (PRG) – American Airlines

May 9th will be the launch of American Airline’s nonstop flights from Chi-Town to Prague. According to USA TODAY, flights will depart from Chicago on Mondays through Thursdays and Saturdays and return from Prague Tuesdays through Fridays, and Sundays. 

Since these flights are seasonal, the route will end on October 23rd, 2020. 

Houston (HOU) to Cozumel (CZM) – Southwest Airlines

Beginning on March 7th, 2020, Southwest will be having nonstop flights from Houston to Cozumel twice daily. 

You can even find flights for as low as $99 one-way or $214 roundtrip. 

Montreal (YUL) to Lisbon (LIS) – TAP Air Portugal

Flights from Montreal to Lisbon, Portugal will start on May 14th until October 24th. TAP Air will have daily flights between the two cities. 

Newark (EWR) to Palermo (PMO) – United Airlines

This seasonal service will start on May 20th until September 30th, 2020. This will be the only nonstop flight between the U.S. and Sicily, Italy.

Newark (EWR) to Auckland (AKL) – Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand will have nonstop flights between Newark and Auckland, making it one of the top 5 longest flights in the world. The route comes in at 17 hours and 40 minutes and totals 8,800 miles. 

Flights begin on October 29th and will take place Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. 

Newark (EWR) to Ontario (ONT) – Frontier Airlines

Beginning on April 23rd, 2020 will be this daily nonstop route to two of the largest markets in the U.S. You can snag flights for as low as $79 one-way. 

New York (LGA) to Bozeman (BZN) and Kalispell (FCA) – American Airlines

Enjoy flights between NYC and Montana this summer with these seasonal routes beginning on June 6th until September 5th. 

Philadelphia (PHL) to Casablanca (CMN) – American Airlines

This year, American Airlines will be the only U.S. airline to have routes to Morocco. Seasonal nonstop service from Philly to Casablanca will start on June 4th, 2020 and have flights operating three times per week. This seasonal route ends on September 8th, 2020. 

San Diego (SAN) to Montreal (YUL) – Air Transat

June 15th, 2020 will mark the begging of the first-ever nonstop route between San Diego and Montreal. Flights will depart from San Diego on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and return from Montreal on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays. 

Flights will run until October 29th, 2020. 

San Francisco (SFO) to Warsaw (WAW) – LOT Polish Airlines

There will be four nonstop routes this year from Poland to the U.S. Starting on August 5th, 2020, LOT Polish Airlines will have routes five times per week from San Francisco to Warsaw. 

The increase in flights to Poland means that prices will most likely drop.
