Flushing, Queens is adding to its vibrant scene with the opening of iSwii by Angry Birds Retail Cafe. This family-friendly establishment will serve up a tasty real-life spin on one of the most-played video games of all time. From fun treats to interactive games and merchandise, iSwii promises a memorable experience for visitors of all ages.

iSwii by Angry Birds, which opened on July 8, is the world’s first Angry Birds-themed retail café. Nestled in the Food Court area of Tangram’s new 275,000 square foot, multi-level retail center, it adds an element of live action and virtual reality to the Queens-Flushing International Market District.

The creation of this retail café in New York was through a partnership between Rovio Entertainment, the developer of Angry Birds, and SCG America, a major construction company, with IMG, the worldwide licensing agency for the Angry Birds franchise, facilitating the collaboration.

iSwii by Angry Birds spans 3,300 square feet. The cafe offers contemporary decor, featuring Instagrammable NYC-themed statue installations outside the entrance. Upon entering, visitors are able to see an eye-catching bright mural ceiling adorned with Angry Birds graphics. A vibrant terrazzo counter invites guests in while the flooring resembles dessert sprinkles.

Its distinctive design aesthetic has wicker and hanging chairs shaped like nests and bird paradise-themed wall coverings. Shelves are adorned with tropical plants where baby birds playfully wander. The decor was meticulously curated by Tina Wu, Head of Interior Design at SCG America.

Immersive Cafe Experiences

One highlight of iSwii by Angry Birds is a glass case exhibition that showcases seasonal holiday cakes and pastries decorated by the cafe’s chef. The visual appeal also provides tantalizing culinary treats on offer.

Private nests are also available for parties and events. These immersive spaces offer guests access to Angry Birds virtual reality (VR) games and tailor-made goodie bags. Private nests take the iSwii by Angry Birds experience to a whole new level of enjoyment.

The cafe’s unique concept combines culinary delights with visually stunning displays.
