The internet is going crazy for two gorillas that were apparently posing for social media with their park rangers. The viral image, which has been shared over 20,000 times, was taken at Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The image was captioned “Another day at the office…” by park ranger Mathieu Shamavu who works in the park’s anti-poaching unit and is one of the men responsible for rescuing the gorillas when they were babies.

The two female gorillas, Ndakazi and Ndeze, appear to be proudly posing in a very human-like way and mimicking human behavior — both remarkable and mesmerizing.
“Those gorilla gals are always acting cheeky so this was the perfect shot of their true personalities,” Virunga National Park wrote on Instagram. “Also, it’s no surprise to see these girls on their two feet either — most primates are comfortable walking upright (bipedalism) for short bursts of time.”

According to CNN, the park, which stretches along the northeast region of the country, is home to 22 primate species, including three great apes and over 600 rangers.
A Virunga National Park spokesperson said the photo happened under “exceptional circumstances,” reminding people that “it is never permitted to approach a gorilla in the wild.”
By the looks of it, it may be time for Ndakazi and Ndeze to get an Instagram account of their own.
