As Puerto Rico gears up to receive doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, Governor Pedro Pierluisi is hoping to implement a new normal for citizens.

It was announced that current restrictions, will soon be eased. Starting Jan. 7, beaches, pools and marinas will re-open. The Sunday lockdown that was in place, will be cancelled.

The curfew that was put in place for tourists and citizens, will be shortened to 11:00 pm – 5:00 am, while face masks are still mandatory. Social distancing guidelines are also still in place.

The relaxed measures will be in place for a 30-day trial period, and Gov. Pierluisi will be closely watching for any spikes in positive results. If a spike happens, the restrictions will be amended.
