Tour d’Argent, Paris‘ real-life ‘Ratatouille’ restaurant, with its rich history spanning over four centuries, has recently reopened its doors. The world-famous eatery, which is home to a wine collection of 320,000 bottles, has debuted a stunning redesign and an even more alluring eating experience. It now boasts a vantage point overlooking two of 2024’s most monumental events: the restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral and the Olympics.

Speaking to Associated Press, Tour d’Argent’s owner and CEO André Terrail said: “It’s very reassuring for many customers to see that such establishments are still present in our history and in French gastronomic history.”

The Tour d’Argent Experience

Stepping into the Tour d’Argent is like stepping back in time. The opulent décor, adorned with antique mirrors, chandeliers, and grand staircases, exudes an air of elegance. It is this level of sophistication that has captivated guests for generations. But it’s the restaurant’s unparalleled views that genuinely set it apart. From its two Michelin-starred dining rooms, guests enjoy breathtaking vistas of the Seine River and the Notre Dame Cathedral. And, most recently, diners have a bird’s-eye view of the bustling construction site where the beloved cathedral is undergoing restorations.

For those seeking a truly exceptional dining experience, Tour d’Argent’s menu boasts a culinary masterpiece — the legendary canard à l’orange. This dish has graced the restaurant’s tables since its early years. The succulent duck, expertly roasted and infused with the tangy sweetness of orange sauce, has been the restaurant’s signature dish for decades, and with each bite, you’ll understand why. The restaurant, however, is still among the most prestigious in Paris. Therefore, it is out of reach for most diners. Eating an inexpensive dinner here can cost around 360 euros.

An Exclusive Excursion In Paris

Still, Tour d’Argent is more than just a food haven; it’s a cultural institution that has played a pivotal role in Paris’s culinary landscape. The restaurant has hosted countless dignitaries, celebrities, and food enthusiasts throughout its history. Its name has become synonymous with fine dining and impeccable service.

As Tour d’Argent embarks on a new chapter, its reopening coincides with the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics. This means guests will have a unique opportunity to observe the city’s lively sporting spirit from a privileged viewing point.
