Singapore’s Changi Airport, which features a slide, a movie theater, and multiple gardens is, to no surprise at all, the world’s best airport.
That’s according to SkyTrax, which polled air travelers around the world in its 2018/2019 World Airport Survey.
Changi Airport has long been beloved by travelers worldwide for its expansive stock of amenities. You can take in art installations, a rain vortex, and shop at luxury brands like Moncler. You can even watch planes take off while in the restroom.
Other top airports include Tokyo Haneda and Narita, Seoul Incheon, Munich, and London Heathrow. No U.S. airport cracks the top 30, with Denver’s airport coming in at number 32. Numbers 36 through 38 were Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, and Houston’s George Bush, respectively.
In its explanation for the award, SkyTrax said on its website, “Singapore Changi Airport connects customers to over 200 destinations worldwide, with 5000 arrivals and departures a week by 80 international airlines.” It continued, “In 2017, Changi Airport celebrated a key milestone, serving 60 million passengers from close to 100 countries around the world.”
