The summer may be flying by, but in Jamaica, it makes no difference. Visit Jamaica posted a schedule of exciting events from now until August.

If you’re interested in the music, culture, and history that make Jamaica so special, book a flight and check out the following events.

Dream Weekend – Negril

Dream Weekend brands itself as “the Caribbean’s largest VIP Party experience.” It features dancehall, soca, calypso, and many other genres of music. This fun-filled, energetic event runs from July 28 to August 1, 2023. There will be world-class DJs present, and well-known performers like Wayne Wonder and Shenseea.

Emancipation Jubilee – St. Ann’s Bay

This annual event is made possible by the Jamaica National Heritage Trust (JNHT), and it happens at Seville Heritage Park in St. Ann’s Bay.

From July 31 to August 1, 2023, honor the ancestors and the long, hard fight for independence at the Emancipation Jubilee. Expect dancing, traditional drumming, food, and, at midnight, a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Emancipendence – Kingston

Head to the stadium at National Independence Village. The independence celebrations and events continue from July 30 to August 6.

According to Visit Jamaica, “This year will mark Jamaica’s 61st year of Independence. The celebration period will showcase many exciting events which allow for the exposure of our varied creative talents.”

Best Weekend Ever – Ocho Rios

From August 4-7, grab some friends and check out the six specially curated events that make up the Best Weekend Ever.

Soca fans will love the I Love Soca Festival on the evening of August 4. This is followed by the Day Break Breakfast Party, the Milk and Honey Chic Party, and the Zimi Seh Beach Party.

This fantastic weekend finishes with the Allure Party on August 6 and Late Check Out on August 7.
