With much of the world shutdown, travelers near and far find themself missing the feeling that venturing to a new place brings. To help combat our travel blues, several destinations and companies have created virtual experiences.

If you are in need of a quick escape while we wait for outside to open up again, these virtual trips will do the trick.

Curaçao’s “Dushi things to do at home”

Travel to this “ABC island” and immerse yourself in the culture. This new online Instagram series explores Zumba classes, immune boosting recipes, backyard workouts, cocktail demos, yoga classes, dessert tutorials, interior design intel and keshi yena making lessons.

Escape to Jamaica

Travel to the land of ‘everything’s gonna be alright’ with the click of a button. The Jamaica Tourist Board recently launched a weekly Instagram live experience titled “Escape to Jamaica.”

“We’re aware that people from all corners of the globe may be in need of an escape with what’s happening right now. With this live series, Jamaica offers a virtual getaway through our music, cuisine, culture, warm people and that unmistakable Jamaican spirit,” said Donovan White, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism.”

Airbnb Experiences

If you’ve ever booked an Airbnb experience while traveling, you know how authentic they can be. To help locals all across the globe recoup some of the income lost due to the travel industry shutting down, Airbnb is now offering its experiences virtually. All you have to do is visit the Airbnb website and browse the list of experiences available.

Travel to Paris or even Portugal from the safety of your computer or mobile device, while you interact with a local who will provide a one-of-a-kind experience that you’ll never forget.

Greece from Home

Have you always dreamed of seeing Greece and learning more about it’s history? Now you can right on your couch. Created jointly by the Greek Tourism Ministry, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and Marketing Greece, this online journey allows you to experience the country virtually.

Visit Greece’s archaeological sites and museums, villages, and traditions, “taste” the country’s gastronomy; and go on nature excursions. “Greek tourism makes its presence felt during this unprecedented crisis. As long as our guests stay home, we as a brand and destination are close to them, from our home,” GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis said in a statement.
