Expedia Group has unveiled its latest innovation with the introduction of One Key. This groundbreaking loyalty program marks a significant milestone as it unifies Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo. The company has become the first major online vacation rental platform to offer such a program.

One Key combines the strength of these three industry-leading travel brands into a single, flexible program. According to Expedia, it enables travelers to earn and redeem rewards across Expedia Group’s extensive marketplace. From flights and hotels to vacation homes, car rentals, cruises, and activities, members can now earn rewards on Vrbo rentals. They can also use them on Expedia flights or Hotels.com accommodations, presenting endless travel possibilities. While One Key has launched in the United States, its global rollout is scheduled to begin in 2024.

With over 168 million members across its loyalty programs and over $10 billion in travel savings provided to date, Expedia Group aims to extend the benefits of One Key to millions more travelers. Designed to cater to every traveler, the program offers instant savings through exclusive Member Prices on select flights, hotels, cruises, car rentals, and activities.

How Expedia’s One Key Works

One Key streamlines the status qualification process, allowing members to achieve Silver status with just one trip. As travelers ascend to higher membership tiers, they unlock deeper discounts and enjoy exclusive perks at VIP Access properties. Gold and Platinum members can also take advantage of Price Drop Protection for eligible flight bookings made through the Expedia app at no extra cost. Notably, One Key introduces a unified rewards currency called OneKeyCash. Members can earn while traveling and utilize it for future bookings in addition to the program’s savings and benefits.

Peter Kern, Vice Chairman and CEO of Expedia Group, expressed the company’s commitment to prioritizing the traveler experience. “From our industry-leading advancements in AI and machine learning to our flexible new loyalty program, One Key, no company is doing more to put the traveler experience front and center in everything we do,” he stated.

Jon Gieselman, President of Expedia Brands, highlights the inclusive nature of One Key which caters to all types of travelers. The program intends to assist those who frequently embark on trips as well as those who travel infrequently. By consolidating the three major brands under one program, travelers can easily accumulate rewards across Expedia Group’s family of brands.

Gieselman added, “More travelers will have OneKeyCash in their ‘wallets’ to spend on their very next trip. It’s about making travel rewards simple for everyone, not just because it’s sunny, a Tuesday, and the planets are miraculously in alignment.”
